Welcome to the LCA Mourning Cove

This is a place for the losses that have shaped you.

Grief does not only follow the death of someone we love. It can also live in the end of a relationship, a dream that did not happen, a job or home you had to leave, a version of life you thought would be yours, or a part of yourself you have had to say goodbye to.

Here, there is no expectation to be “over it.”

You are invited to sit with what is missing, what still hurts, what you remember, and what you continue to carry.

The Remembrance Ritual
A gentle ritual for honouring a loss with care.

Take a moment to arrive.

Breathe slowly. Notice where your body is being held and supported.

Then gently ask yourself:

“What loss am I carrying with me today?”

“What has this loss meant to me?”

“What do I miss?”

“What do I want to remember, honour or give a place?”

You may write a name, a memory, a date, a feeling, a goodbye, or something you never got to say.

There is no right way to grieve. You do not have to make it beautiful or meaningful before you are ready. You do not have to find a lesson in it today.

If it feels right, place one hand over your heart and say:

“This mattered to me.”
This still matters to me.”
I am allowed to carry love and grief at the same time.”

Before you leave

Complete this sentence:

Today, I want to make room for…

You do not have to leave your grief behind to keep moving forward. Sometimes, we simply learn how to carry it with more tenderness.
